For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10 ESV
There’s so much in this scripture that tells us who we were, who we are and who God has called us to be! I guess that’s why it’s one of my favorites!
First, the Word says that you are God’s masterpiece. Now, if Rembrandt and Picasso can make art that is renowned for generations, priceless and irreplaceable and they were made by human hands, don’t you think a masterpiece made my God is so much more valuable and one-of-a-kind?
Second, this scripture says that we are made new in Christ Jesus, that is, whatever we once were, whatever we used to do, it no longer marks our lives! We are made new, not just so that we can feel the weight of the old life fall off, but so that we are now cleansed of our sin and fit for the call of Christ Jesus!
So that leads to the third point, once we are made new, we are equipped with a new identity, the blood of Jesus, anointing, community and the power of the Holy Spirit which empower us to do all God had designed for us to do from Day 1! And that was to be sons and daughters of God and to reign with Him!
If you are feeling purposeless today, like you’re just going through the motions, keep this verse in mind and ask God to show you what He had planned for you before He even made the earth! For you are His masterpiece!
