From the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks! As a man thinketh (in his heart) so is he. A man’s heart is deceitful, who could know it?! Our hearts can get broken, bruised, and battered as we live this life, but it doesn’t have to stay that way. We may choose to “let it go”, but sometimes the old thing comes back up and we wonder why because we truly decided to forget the past and start over. The heart is like the brain, it holds memory. Some good, some bad, some shameful, some that make you cringe in regret. Here’s the good news! – When He, puts His Spirit in you, you are given a new heart! And as you give all those dead things to Jesus, He replaces those areas of your heart with love, life, joy, peace and healing & more (His Spirit).

And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. – Ezekiel 36:26 ESV

Sometimes it’s instantaneous, sometimes it takes a while, but I promise you He is more than able to bear and remove your burdens and to replace an old, calloused, stony heart with the heart of God! Will you make that exchange today? It may be the first time you ask for His heart or maybe you need an upgrade. Either way, He will make good on His promise.
